Les Pertes de la Valserine

Les Pertes de la Valserine

Pertes Valserine

Located in the town of Bellegarde-sur-Valserine (01), the pure waters of the Valserine have shaped this little corner of paradise. A landscaped path leads along the banks offering extraordinary views.

In its downstream section, the river has dug abyssal gorges in the limestone rock which is characterized by unexpected strangulations or sometimes impressive natural sites: Devil and Stones bridges, losses of the Valserine. It is a large limestone slab where the stream flows which disappears after digging deep pots…

Pertes Valserine

Protected by the Haute Chaîne du Haut-Jura, it is the 1st French river to have received the “Rivières Sauvages” label. Its waters are very pure and its stocking very rich (the Fario trout is famous). This very wild and little frequented corner is appreciated by fishermen.
