Peace and tranquillity: the true luxury of a holiday

At the Domaine de Mépillat, our campervan-friendly campsite, relaxation isn’t just an option – it’s the very essence of your stay. Indeed, at our campsite for couples and senior citizens, there are no late-night entertainment events to disturb your evenings: as soon as the sun goes down, the estate falls silent once more, broken only by birdsong and the rustling of the tall trees.

Our estate, deliberately set apart from the hustle and bustle, appeals equally to couples and older guests looking for some genuine ‘me time’. You can enjoy a wooded, secure and peaceful setting where you’ll soon feel right at home.

It is this tranquillity, day after day, that transforms a simple holiday into a rejuvenating break.

A stroll along the banks of the idyllic pond

Mépillat Pond lies right next to the campsite and sets the pace for the day. A path suitable for everyone winds its way round the pond, offering nearly 2 km of tranquillity in the shade of tall trees: the ideal route for a stroll hand in hand, with no steep slopes or difficult terrain. Fishing enthusiasts will find a peaceful spot here, right by the water’s edge. In the early morning, from the terrace, herons, ducks and kingfishers discreetly bring the water’s surface to life. In the evening, the light softens and the sky is reflected on the water. This vibrant setting invites you to slow down and savour the moment, right here at our campsite with its fishing pond.

Valérie and Valentin’s advice: Take a seat on a bench on the west side as the day draws to a close. It’s the best spot to admire the sunset reflecting on the pond, in peace and quiet, whilst the cool of the evening gently settles over the estate. A simple moment, but one our guests often mention to us the following year.
